Navajo Pottery
$45.00
First, the pots are slip-cast and dried to a leather-hard stage. At this point, they are hand smoothed, finished and allowed to dry. In the next step, bands of color are applied and the pot dries again. Finally, using sharp tools, the dried pot is hand-etched. Each pot is signed by its creator. The pots come in two sizes.
4"H x 7"W - This pot is painted in bands of muted blues, white, black and green on a background of natural red clay. The top reflects a repeated pattern of the towering buttes found on the Navajo reservation.
